ICF Seminars and Conferences
International ICF Conference in Tutzing (Germany), 8.-10.9.2006
Each ICF partner conducted a small seminar on its issue at the national level and two international conferences with a larger scope were held by the project (8-10 September 2006 in Tutzing/Germany, 26-27 April 2007 in Prague).
The national seminars of the ICF partners were similarly structured and organised. At these seminars, the materials on good practice examples developed by the project partners were disseminated. This formed the main part of the seminars as information presented and discussed was in many cases new for most of the participants. Therefore, the participants paid special attention to this part. The recommendations included in the training materials were particularly critically reviewed by the participants. The participants collectively came up with suggestions for further development of the materials and/or adjustments.
The partners continuously received good responses from the participants. They gained strength from obtaining tools on hands-on good practice examples, which provide well-grounded knowledge and argumentation for improvement. In particular, local actors such as refugee-assisting NGOs stated that they feel supported in their advocacy work by having access to information about good practices in the fields, in which they are particularly active. Through conducting the seminar, the implementing ICF partner also became empowered through the discussion and, particularly, the assessment of their materials. The training materials are available on this website.
"No Place, Nowhere?" - Refugee Protection in Central Europe
How can we as a civil society contribute to the fact that Europe remains a place of the refugee protection and that the access for refugees to protection in Europe is ensured? How can we protect refugees beyond our borders? Experts of international organisations like UNHCR and ECRE and participants from numerous European Member States discussed these and other questions on a large conference organised by the ICF project.
